DFI Technology introduces NEW scientific break-through
in hydrophobic coatings
SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO, June 2003- Diamon-Fusion
International, Inc. (DFI), global developer and exclusive
supplier of the Diamon-Fusion® patented hydrophobic
technology, is now providing to all DFI's licensees, on a worldwide
basis, its new version of the Diamon-Fusion® coating: widely
considered as a break-through scientific development,
this is a NEW improvement to its original award-winning process.
The characteristics of this new development have been reported
by DFI's R&D scientists as significant and very relevant
in the area of abrasion resistance and overall expanded durability.
Don Hayden, PhD, DFI's Chief Scientist and Inventor,
stated: "After more than 10 years of working on R&D in
hydrophobicity, I can comfortably say that this new development
has a significant merit and provides an overall expanded durability
in chemical terms; Diamon-Fusion® not only repels water
(hydrophobic), providing an easy-to-clean coating to all silica-based
surfaces, but also offers oil repellency oleophobic-
due to Diamon-Fusion®'s unique molecular composition".
Adam Zax, President & CEO of DFI, reported: "Although
the original objective of this improvement was focused on surfaces
that suffer accelerated degradation due to harsh weathering
conditions, we now recognize it will provide added benefits
to a multiplicity of markets including increasing durability
on shower doors and other interior applications; we are very
pleased with the increased stability and chemical strength of
our new development and are confident our continual improvements
will offer the market place more distinctions to educate the
public on the vast differences between our technology and other
products".
DFI's enhanced hydrophobic technology
provides a unique molecular change in the treated surface,
creating a covalent bond, the strongest possible bond,
in chemical terms, that a hydrophobic coating can furnish (in
a covalent bond, the electrons are shared by the glass and the
coating itself, thus the coating becomes part of the glass).
Diamon-Fusion®'s covalent bond provides expanded
durability and additional properties such as scratch and impact
resistance, added brilliance and lubricity, additional electrical
insulation and capability of receiving Invisible Art Glass,
among other significant characteristics.
